AboutNARSEF 2024
TBD The College of Engineering at The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) is pleased to host the 69th Annual North Alabama Regional Science and Engineering Fair (NARSEF). The fair will be held usually in March or April. NARSEF is a scientific competition for students in grades five through twelve. The purpose of the fair is to offer an opportunity for students to showcase their independent research to the public and compete scholastically with their peers. NARSEF is dedicated to promoting an interest in scientific exploration in today’s youth. Performing independent research, in terms of a science fair project, stimulates interest in students in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The interest in these areas is important because they have been recognized as crucial knowledge attributes for the next generation. |
More Information The change for this year will be the required submission of the Project Materials. This will be the materials that will be presented during judging. Grades 9-12 will follow the ISEF Project Material Guidelines for presentation materials and presentation. This is a great template for all projects, but it will not be required to follow for grades 5-8: I would recommend keeping the presentation materials short and concise.

February 24 – Last day to register project online.

All items associated with the student’s project will be filed with their StudentID. This is a four digit number followed by their last name (ex. 1234Smith). This StudentID will be received in a confirmation email after completing online registration. It will be used to name the project paperwork file, in the payment portal, and checking in at the fair. Any questions concerning a specific student will need to reference the StudentID.
Students in Grades 5 – 8 must submit the NARSEF Project Forms for their paperwork.
Students in Grades 9 – 12 must submit the Official ISEF Project Forms for their paperwork.
Note: download forms from websites, then fill-in and save.
All paperwork will need to be submitted online in a PDF format. Paperwork will be reviewed once. If items are missing or incorrect, they will be returned for correction with a deadline. Corrections will not be accepted after this date, and the project will be disqualified from the judging process.
